Tridonic DALI interface with RS232 cable


    The Tridonic DALI interface has a power LED, a status LED and a test/configuration button.


    For those in a hurry who do not want to read through everything: For LichtWART Switch to data transmission mode 1 (DALI SCI).

    • Press test button
    • Release test button during 4th orange phase.
      DALI Interface RS232 PS/S changes to data transmission mode 1

    ---

    Power LED

    • green: trouble-free operation
    • off:  Device or power failure

    Status LED

    • green, intermittently flickering: trouble-free operation
    • green, periodically on/off every 0.5 s: test mode: manually repeated
    • orange, regularly every 0.5 s on/off: Test mode: automatically repeated
    • off: Device or mains failure
    • red, flickering intermittently: fault at DALI/DSI output

    Test/configuration button

    The test button can be used to trigger tests as well as certain functions.

    Trigger function:

    • Press the test button.
    • Release test button in the desired orange phase - function is triggered.

    Orange phase:

    1. End test mode
    2. Test mode: repeated automatically
    3. Display configuration of RS232 (RJ45) interface
    4. Switch to data transmission mode 1 (DALI SCI)
    5. Switch to data transmission mode 2 (DALI SCI2)

    Test mode

    Repeat manually:

    • Press test button for maximum 2 seconds. Status LED starts flashing green and all lights are switched on.
    • Each time the button is pressed for less than 2 seconds, the luminaires are switched on and off alternately.
    • To end test mode, press test button and release during 1st orange phase. Automatically exits as soon as a DALI command is received.

    Automatically repeated:

    • Press test button.
    • Release test button during 2nd orange phase.
      All luminaires are switched on and off regularly every 2.5 seconds.
    • To exit test mode, press test button and release during 1st orange phase.

    Configuration of the RS232 (RJ45) interface

    The interface RS232 (RJ45) of the DALI Interface RS232 PS/S allows two modes of data transmission:
    • Data transmission mode 1 (use for LichtWART)
      Transmission rate: 19200 baud
      Unidirectional transmission of DALI/DSI commands
      Replaces DALI SCI (24033463)
    • Data transmission mode 2 (default)
      Transmission rate: 38400 baud
      Bidirectional transmission of DALI/DSI commands
      Replaces DALI SCI2 (24166096)

    Display configuration of RS232 (RJ45) interface

    • Press test button
    • Release test button during 3rd orange phase
      Current configuration is displayed
      - Status LED orange, on/off once 0.5 s: Data transmission mode 1 (DALI SCI) - necessary for LichtWART
      - Status LED orange, on/off twice 0.5 s: Data transmission mode 2 (DALI SCI2)

    For LichtWART:
    Change to data transmission mode 1 (DALI SCI)

    • Press test button
    • Release test button during 4th orange phase:
      DALI Interface RS232 PS/S changes to data transmission mode 1

    For information only:
    Change to data transmission mode 2 (DALI SCI2)

    • Press test button
    • Release test button during 5th orange phase:
      DALI Interface RS232 PS/S changes to data transmission mode 2
